Where are you from?
Arizona native, born & raised!
How did you get your store started?
I originally began sewing as a kid, I took the sewing class at school as an elective and fell in love with it. From there I saved my allowance and purchased a vintage sewing machine out of the newspaper and have never stopped sewing!
I started my shop on Etsy and I love being a part of the Etsy community! I began my shop on a what if... what if I make a dress and see if it sells. It did right away and I have been doing it ever since!
What inspires you?
Rockabilly, 1950's styles, black and white movies, Film Noir, 1950's movies, Hollywood Starlets, Mad Men, Pan Am, Bomb Girls, Pin Ups of the past & today and our Rockabilly culture that exist now along with modern Rockabilly worn today.
How long have you been open and what is some of your favorite items?
I opened my Etsy shop in 2008. I would say my favorite items are my original DollfaceBettys designs of Rockabilly dress' and 1950's reproductions. I love working with anything vintage including patterns and fabrics from the 1950's.
What celebrity would you most like to wear/indorse/use your items?
Christina Hendricks or any other Mad Men star!
If you had to use only one word to describe yourself, what would it be?
What is your biggest pet peeve?
Lack of professionalism, people who are late or don't follow through.
What are your favorite websites?
For clothing when I'm not wearing my own or something vintage I love ModCloth, Pin Up Lifestyle.com, Etsy.com and PinmeupUtah.com
What would people be surprised to learn about you?
Before working full time on my DollfaceBettys business I spent the last 20 years as a hair and make-up artist. It's been a great career to have and it plays a big part in what I do now for styling models during our company photography shoots.
